Migration from macOS Mojave to macOS Catalina. Goodbye bash.

What happened?

macOS Catalina is as of today the latest version of Apple’s operating system for iMacs and Macbooks. It is the successor of macOS Mojave (personally, one of the best OS by Apple for Macintosh computers) and the first Apple’s OS that does not support 32-bit applications.

Before updating from macOS Mojave to macOS Catalina I read a lot of negative feedback (mostly about late Beta) about this new OS version but still decided to give it a try.

In this article, I will write about my experience as a Sofware and Web Back-end developer. I will try to show some advantages and disadvantages of migration from macOS Mojave to macOS Catalina. I am sure you should know about key pitfalls before making an update and how to protect your data.

My story of how I started coding

I was a very lucky child. My parents bought for me first computer at the age of 6. At that time I was only playing games for average 5 hours per day. At the age of 8, I became interested in the development of own simple programs on C and Pascal. One of my first programs was a very simple calculator. At the age of 11, I wrote my first primitive 2D game on Java (something like Super Mario, but with 2 levels and without monsters).

TOP-5 reasons to use Apple products vs other manufacturers

It is now almost 5 years since I started using my first IPhone (at that moment it was Black IPhone 5 16Gb) and soon I bought my first laptop Macbook Air 13′ 128 Gb. Before that, I was only using Android devices and computers with Windows OS. Right now, I have IPhone 7, Macbook Pro and Macbook Air, Apple Watch, AirPods and Magic Mouse, as you can see I am almost full-stuck Apple user. So why do I think that Apple products offer the most competitive user experience vs other manufacturers?
